MY WINTER STAPLES 2015

There is something very special about winter- maybe it's Christmas fast approaching, maybe it's the anticipation of snow or maybe it's the constant playing of those annoyingly catchy Christmas songs, but it is DEFINITELY not the bitter cold. Here are my favourite things that help me beat the freezing weather, and make sure my skin and style don't suffer!

A good coat - I've never been one to dress for the weather, I hate coats and I hate jackets because I feel like they hide my style underneath and it makes it a lot harder to show it off, but then it does make me pretty ill most of the time during the winter, so I decided to invest in one staple coat that I could wear with pretty much anything. After searching the high street, I finally decided on the Faux Fur Compact Coat. This was perfect for me- it's comfortable, stylish and versatile and exactly what I was looking for. The only downside to this is that it isn't waterproof, but my time spent outdoors is minimal and there are some pretty cute umbrellas on the market! I didn't mind spending £89 on this, the quality is great and I knew I would be wearing it to death.

A good moisturiser - So, recently I've actually been obsessed with the brand Yes To, especially the Cucumber and Grapefruit ranges. The Cucumber range is to help calm the skin, and during this time of year my skin loves to flair up and I am always finding myself reaching for these products. The moisturiser is super thick so great for winter, and I love to layer it on before I go to bed for my own self-made overnight mask. The moisturiser is around the £15 mark, and for me, it's one of the top moisturisers within that price range.

A winter lipstick - Nothing makes a 6am, 3 degree Monday morning tolerable like a brand new MAC lipstick, especially when the colour is TO DIE FOR. My most recent purchase is the ever so daring 'Dare You', which combines a sultry & smokey red with a side dish of bold to really make any complexion pop. This really finishes off my make up, and even when I haven't had time to do a full eye look, it still gives the look of effortless and striking.
