So today I had the pleasure of going to the K.T.L.E headquarters to view their original collection and ask the gorgeous girlies there all about the brand. The brand is all about casual basics, but with super cute and super funny slogans on, as well as adorable logos. The inside of their office is like a wonderland for anyone creative, and as for their collection, the creativity definitely shines through.
So my first question was "how on EARTH do you pronounce it?" It's actually really simple, and after feeling silly for being so stupid, I learnt how personal the story is behind it. Caitlin and Ellie are two nineteen year olds from the UK. Caitlin, like most of us, had a nickname when she was younger; Catie, and thus meeting Ellie, the K.T.L.E phenomenon was born. GET IT?! Although nearly a year old, K.T.L.E are now ready to expand their college hobbie into a blooming business, and put their art diplomas to use. With both of them bringing original yet witty designs to the table, Caitlin likes to focus more on the day-to-day running of the business.
I found it very interesting to learn that a lot of their inspiration comes from tattoo designs. The "Feed me and tell me I'm pretty" tee is unsurprisingly Ellie's favourite from the collection (I mean who doesn't want to be fed and to be told they're pretty?!?) and the elephant logo is Caitlin's favourite.
When I asked them where they'd like to see the brand in two years, they both agreed that they want to release new collections, whether it be a colour collection, or a limited edition design. Expansion is definitely on the cards for them imminently as their online shop is almost up and running and new designs are in the pipeline.
My final question, and a personal favourite of mine, was what their favourite thing about the brand was. It was so lovely to hear that their favourite thing was how it was all their own thing. STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM NOW WE HERE comes to mind. But seriously. The originality and organicness is so refreshing to see, and the designs are just SO relatable.
I cannot WAIT for the new colour designs which should be available JUST in time for summer!
